Bloomburg Independent School District (ISD) delivered on a promise once more this year as they graduated their senior class and handed out $8,200 to eligible graduates.
The Promise Scholarship, a fund which began building back in the 90s has, to date, paid out $22,700 since 2012, according to high school counselor Andrea Allen. These funds are earned by Bloomburg ISD Wildcats throughout their tenure at the district. Students may earn up to $1,000 per year based on attendance for grades K - 7. High school students also accumulate money based on their attendance. In addition, they must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or higher to get a portion of their available scholarship for the year.
