Linden-Kildare’s varsity baseball team kicked off Spring Break with a district game against county foe Queen City at home on March 11.
The game was close throughout each inning but in the end L-K claimed a 6-5 victory.
The Bulldogs struck first when they picked up a run in the first inning but the Tigers answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the same frame when Reid Bynum doubled and advanced home on a hit by Blake Burns.
In the second inning, Jordan Craver got on base with a walk and eventually stole home to give the Tigers a one run edge.
Queen City scored four runs in the fourth inning but L-K never flinched at the deficit and scored four runs of their own in the bottom half of the fourth to take a one run lead.
In that big inning Jordan Spaniol, Jim Brown, Bynum and Craver all scored which was enough for the Tigers to take a 6-5 win.
Bynum went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Burns, Patrick Littlejohn and Brendan Bell all added singles.
Curt Wells pitched a complete game with five scattered hits and seven strikeouts.
