Celebrating Girl Scout Week

Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah, Ga. founded Girl Scouts on March 12, 1912. The first Girl Scout was Juliette’s niece, Daisy Gordon, and the first troop consisted of 12 girls. Now, every year the week containing March 12 is proclaimed Girl Scout Week. 
Girl Scouting consists of six age levels: Daisies - kindergarten and first grade; Brownies - 2nd and 3rd grades; Juniors - 4th and 5th grades; Cadettes - 6th and 8th grades; Seniors - 9th and 10th grades, and Ambassadors 11th and 12th grades.
