Two ‘supermoons’ expected in January

Beginning the new year could be a great time for some sky watching with the youngsters. Two perigree moons or “supermoons” are reportedly expected in January with the first citing on New Year’s Day.
The Moon’s distance varies each month between approximately 357,000 kilometers (222,000 mi) and 406,000 km (252,000 mi) due to its ellipticalorbit around the Earth (distances given are center-to-center).
