DONALD ‘DON’ JACKSON HOLLAND

Donald “Don” Jackson Holland, 86, originally of Atlanta, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.
He was born March 16, 1927, to I. H. “Ike” and Ruth Smith Holland in Norphlet, Ark. He attended Atlanta High School where he met and married his sweetheart, Neta Fay Heldt on Oct. 10, 1947. They moved to south Texas, where they lived until 1979, when they moved to Longview.
He spent all his working years in the oil field, starting with Arkansas Fuel Oil, and then he worked for Cities Service Oil and Gas and retired from Oxy USA, Inc. in 1989, after 41 years of service. He was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and Yeates Sunday School Class. He enjoyed people, golf and good jokes.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Neta; sister, Barbara Ann Gennings of Queen City; sister-in-law, Donna Holland of Norwalk, Conn.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special cousins, John and Rebekah Sirmans; and a number of in-law cousins. He was also blessed to be survived by a host of good friends.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview with Scott Schulik officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Atlanta under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
