Resolution affirms support for IP

Cass County Commissioners signed a resolution Monday affirming the county’s support of International Paper (IP) Company’s Texas Enterprise Project application to the state of Texas.
The resolution is to continue an order passed on Nov. 10, 2008, electing to participate in the Texas Enterprise Zone Program. 
The resolution States the county finds IP meets the criteria for designation as a Triple Jumbo enterprise project.
IP is a qualified business under Section 2303.402 of the Act since it will be engaged in the active conduct of trade or business at a qualified business site within the governing body’s jurisdiction located in an enterprise zone and at least 25 percent of the business’ new employees will be residents of an enterprise zone or economically disadvantaged individuals.  Read more in our e-edition:  http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Casscounty1//Magazine40177/Full/index.aspx?id=40177
