Edith Wilbanks Stanley, 97, of Bloomburg, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, in a Texarkana adult care facility.
She was born June 13, 1916, in Cass County, to John and Ethel Philpot Wilbanks. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church of Bloomburg and loved sewing, quilting and cooking “Mammaw Meals” for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S. R. Stanley and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Welber “Webb” Stanley and wife Saundra of Texarkana; two daughters, Betty Stuckey and husband Joe of Doddridge, Ark., and Beverley Griffin and husband Phill of Atlanta; one brother, Quenton Wilbanks of Dallas; two sisters, Dorothy Solley of Mesquite and Peggy Dupree of Queen City; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral were at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at First Baptist Church of with Bro. George Thomas officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Cemetery in Doddridge under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
