EVELYN THOMPSON

Evelyn Thompson, 75, of Bradley, Ark., went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in a Texarkana hospital.
She was born May 16, 1938, in Atlanta and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and restaurant server for many years. Evelyn and J.C. sang together at Red River Church until he passed away. She was a friend to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Thompson and a stepson, Norman Thompson.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Joyce Wright of Lindale; six stepsons, Curtis Thompson and wife Cindy of Gladewater, David Thompson and wife Kathy of Tyler, Bruce Thompson and wife Jackie of Whitehouse, Ricky Thompson and wife Sandy of Lindale, Dan Thompson and wife Gina of Lindale and Joe Thompson and wife Gwen of Whitehouse; one brother, Weldon Alexander of Texarkana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a good friend, Willie Vestal.
Visitation was from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Doddridge, Ark. with Bro. Gary O’Day officiating. Interment was at Macedonia Cemetery under the direction Hanner Funeral Service. Food was served at Mt. Zion Fellowship Hall afterward.
