Prop. 6: Good for Texas or Trojan horse?

Proposition 6: “The constitutional amendment providing for the creation of the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas and the State Water Implementation Revenue Fund for Texas to assist in the financing of priority projects in the state water plan to ensure the availability of adequate water resources.”

Ward Timber has come out this week in strong opposition to Proposition 6. The measure is on the ballot of state constitutional amendments and would created a statewide fund to support the Texas Water Plan. 
“It is our belief that the only ones who will benefit from Proposition 6 are the engineering firms and the reservoir promoters, not the people, workers or landowners of the State of Texas,” a statement released by Ward Timber said this morning. 
Supported by the 83rd Legislature’s water legislation, the plan would work in concert to accomplish the following, according to H2O4TEXAS Advocacy or Proposition6:
*Set up a historic revolving loan program available to local governmental entities – such as municipalities – that are sponsoring local water projects.
*Provide Texas voters the opportunity to approve a fiscally disciplined investment in our water future.
*Dedicate a one-time investment of $2 billion to finance the loan program, if voters approve the water proposition that will appear on ballots November 5, 2013...
