The early New Colony School

New Colony is a rural community about four miles northeast of Linden in Cass County. The early settlers built a church in 1889. The settlement was a farming community with numerous houses, several businesses and had its own school district.
Jerry Arnold, of Linden, attended second grade at New Colony School about 1948-49. The school consolidated with Linden around 1951. The New Colony School had three rooms, an auditorium and a stage.
