Domino adopts new tax rate, not budget

The Domino City Council met at 9 a.m. on Monday Sept. 23 to adopt their tax rate. The city has still not adopted a budget as is outlined by Texas Local Government code. The new rate is an increase of 4 percent.
The new rate is .030013 per $100 of taxable value.
According to Mayor Alfred Campbell, the city is still working on their budget after the resignation of council member Delores Woodfork. Woodfork resigned in August from the council due to retirement and health conditions.
