City of Atlanta shows increase in revenue of 1.2%

Council approves purchases for police, water department, public library

The Atlanta City Council approved its tax rate Monday, Sept. 23. The rate is an increase of revenue of 1.2 percent from the previous year. 
The Atlanta City Council met in a public meeting at 6 p.m. Monday night. The total tax revenue proposed is $1,390,126 at a rate of $0.66000 for each $100 of taxable value. 
This is the third year in a row that the city has not raised its tax rate.
At the same tax rate of $0.66000, the city raised $1,374,126.
