Carolyn Jane Maxwell, 73, of Bivins, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Illinois to Alex and Dorothy Lockhart. She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She loved spending time with family.
Her parents; son, Ralph Stukes; daughter, Brenda Stukes; grandson, Andrew Stukes; and a sister, Edna Flores, precede her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Maxwell of Bivins; five sons, Alex Stukes of Marshall, Travis Stukes of Brownsville, Douglas Stukes of Waco, Wayland Stukes of Wichita Falls and Cecil Maxwell III of Longview; four daughters, Dorothy Moser of Linden, Barbie Rhode of Flint, Gloria Salustaire of Cove, Ark., and Sharon Cuvley of Mena, Ark.; two brothers, Alex Lockhart of LaGrange, Ill., and Bill Shaffer of Grand Junction, Colo.; three sisters, Barbara Stauffer of Buena Vista, Colo., Betty Elinkie of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Arlene Vandeveer of Santa Clara, Calif.; and a number of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Kildare Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. David Markham officiating.
