Rural Schools that no longer exist

The rural schools of the past were totally different than today. The times have changed and so has the culture. Among the many things they were dedicated to teach were the three “R”s. The people I have talked to that went to school in the 30’s and 40’s and up into the 50’s tell similar stories. 
Many schools started with primer and then first grade through 11th grade and later from first grade through 12th grade.
