Atlanta City Council reviews proposed budget, talks trash

The Atlanta City Council met in regular session Monday night. The City Manager, David Cockrell gave rave reviews about the first service day of new trash pickup with Waste Management (WM). The big green carts have made their way about the city and have been delivered to most service areas, perhaps other than the mayor’s house. 
Mayor Keith Crow reported that he had not received his cart yet, but had heard good reports so far.
Cockrell told those in attendance that most of the complaints he had received had been about the color of the cart and not the service itself. There have been 40 new paying customers added to the city’s sanitation services as a result of delivery of the carts, according to City Secretary Danica Porter...
