Lee Anna Mack, 100, of Linden passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
She was born Jan. 13, 1913 to Arthur and Ada Lockett of Linden. She was the seventh of none children. In 1935, she married Fred Mack. They created a loving home and enjoyed many happy years together until he died in 1967.
She attended the Fairview Schools, was an active member of the Community Council of Cass County and was a member of the Linden Chapter 502 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She became a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church early in life. She later joined the New Light Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, secretary of the choir, president of the youth department, chairperson of prayer meetings, chairperson of the deaconesses and held the revered title of Mother of the Church.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters, Rosella Hawkins, Nollie Lockett, Eddie Lockett, Clemmie Lockett, Clarenece Lockett, Jeffrey Lockett, Hezekiah Lockett and Wilsie D. Harmon.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish a lifetime of memories.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. at Linden Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at New Life Baptist Church in Linden with the Rev. Anthony Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Linden under the direction of Linden Funeral Home.
