Lightening strike is cause of IP fire

Millions of gallons used to contain huge fire at mill’s woodyard

Lightening was the culprit that started a fire at the International Paper mill in Domino. Fire fighters worked up to 24 hours to clear a fire that broke out at one of the mill’s wood yard Friday. 
IP reports that their Emergency Response Team was notified at 9:30 a.m. of a fire in a segregated area of their wood yard. According to IP representatives, the fire was not in a process area, so at no time was there risk to mill’s employees or operations.
