Convicted murderer seeks another look by court

Cynthia Hudson of Queen City was convicted of the 2008 murder of her 14-year-old adopted son and has now filed a brief asking for a new trial.
Her appellate lawyer, Troy Hornsby, filed the motion Friday asking the court to take another look at Hudson’s case because, he said, the jury in the initial trial did not have the option of convicting his client with manslaughter.
Testimony in the Hudson case stated the 50-year-old mother bludgeoned her 14-year-old adopted son Samuel to death with a rake, computer cord, broom and mop handles and a baseball bat on Dec. 3, 2008. Read more in our e-edition:
