Local election results posted but unofficial

 

Results for the May 11, 2013 local elections are posted and Cass County has projected winners in a number of races. All results are unofficial pending election canvassing.

Domino City Council

The Domino City Council race results show a new mayor and two new council members. Alfred Campbell is the new mayor for Domino if election results pass the county's canvass. He beat Mike Webber and Freddye Frazier by a large margin. Campbell took 42 votes to Webber’s 17 and Frazier’s 11.

Place 1 for Domino City Council is Deloris Woodfork, according to unofficial numbers posted tonight. Woodfork won with 49 votes against Lonzo Lincoln, Jr. with 19.

In the Place 3 Domino race, Tammy Harris took the race with 55 votes against Earnest Stagner, who garnered just 14 votes.

Linden, Texas

Linden passed its controversial proposition to sell alcohol, including mixed beverages, by 71 percent. There were 591 voters for and just 232 against the sale of liquor.

Incumbent Pat Roberson and Holly Wall won their city council race. Roberson won 477 votes and Holly Wall got 299 votes. James Milligan garnered 124 votes. Clarence Burns ran unopposed.

Atlanta Independent School Board (ISD)

Atlanta ISD school board election results unofficially show that Charlotte Stanley, Peggy Harrison, Joel Steger and Joe Wall are the top vote-getters in those races.

The top four candidates would fill at-large seats in that district’s school board, according to earlier reports.

Charlotte Stanley took 1,020 votes, followed by incumbent Joel Steger with 433, incumbent Joe Wall with 376 and Peggy Harrison with 336 votes. Remaining candidates were Robert Lawson, Jr. who garnered 298 votes. Mark Rinehart got 288 votes and Lonnie Lynch got 221 votes. 

Queen City ISD

Two incumbents will maintain their positions on the Queen City Independent School District Board of Trustees.

In Place 1, incumbent Jim Davenport raked in 590 votes, beating opponents Colton Savage, who had 21 votes, and Jeff Purtle, who had 280 votes.

In Place 2, incumbent Craig Beckham received the majority with 547 votes to Randy Garrison’s 339.

In Place 3, Johnathan Stanmore will fill the position previously held by Mike Hall. Stanmore received 569 votes to Jack Wright’s 275 votes, James Tally’s 44 votes, and Mike Hall’s 21 votes.
