Lady Rabbs grab first place

By Tim Emmons
The Lady Rabbs stormed Paris on Friday, March 29, and not only left town with sole possession of the District 13-3A lead after defeating North Lamar 3-0, but ended North Lamar’s amazing 54-game district winning streak that began back in 2007.
Freshman pitching sensation Lanee Oliver tossed a perfect, complete-game no-hitter against the Lady Panthers as the Lady Rabbits moved into first place after the dominating performance.
The Lady Rabbs made no fielding errors and no batters were hit in the perfect game orchestrated by each Lady Rabbit dressed out for the contest.
Oliver already has one perfect game to her credit and added another, fanning 12 Lady Panthers in the process and helping her own cause from the batter’s box with two hits.
Ashlyn Dodson led the Lady Rabbs with three hits and an RBI, Lauren Rutland had a hit and an RBI, Kayla Whatley slammed a double and Morgan Maxwell, Lexi Oliver, and Alyssa Oliver each had singles.
Atlanta is now 5-0 in district and North Lamar, defending district champion, is second at 4-1.
