Linden-Kildare owned Hooks for six innings while building up a 3-0 lead, but the Hornets plated six runs in the top of the final inning to claim a 6-3 district win on Tuesday, March 26, at Jim Grubbs Field.
Both pitchers were in a strikeout duel throughout the contest, and combined for 25 k’s when the dust had settled.
Brandon Bell had L-K’s only hit and Curt Wells had a strong night on the mound until tiring in the final frame. Wells finished the contest with 12 strikeouts and no earned runs.
