Council calls alcohol sale special election

Linden city council called for a special election for "the legal sale of alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages" during their regular meeting on Feb. 11 at the Mary Daughety Senior Citizens Center.

An election was ordered for Saturday, May 11, at the Cass County Voting Building, 227 E. Rush St. The polling place will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on that day.

Voters will also be casting their ballots for mayor and two city councilmen.

Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, April 29, through Friday, May 3.

Early voting will also take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, May 6-7.

Applications for ballots by mail should be mailed to Jannis Mitchell, Early Voting Clerk, P.O. Box 449, Linden, Texas 75563. Applications for ballots by mail must be received no later than the close of business on Friday, May 3.
